Suggested Cooking Methods
Grilled Cutlassfish
Thaw completely and lightly season with salt. Coat the fish with a thin layer of flour or starch, then pan-fry in cooking oil over medium heat until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
Braised Cutlassfish
Place sliced radish, potatoes, and green onions in a pot. Arrange the cutlassfish on top, then add a seasoning sauce made with red pepper flakes, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Simmer over medium heat until the sauce is reduced and the fish is fully infused with flavor.
Cooking Instructions
Pan-Frying
- Preheat a frying pan, add a generous amount of cooking oil, and heat it again thoroughly.
- Place the cutlassfish in the pan and cook over high heat for 1 minute. Flip and cook the other side for another 1 minute, similar to deep-frying.
- Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking slowly, turning occasionally, until the fish is cooked through.
Grill (or Air Fryer)
- Lightly coat the surface of the cutlassfish with cooking oil. (This helps prevent the fish from sticking to the grill.)
- Preheat the grill or air fryer on high heat. Cook the cutlassfish until the surface turns golden brown, then flip once and cook over high heat for about 30 seconds. Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking slowly until the fish is fully cooked inside.
